Gia is a sassy Italian from Brooklyn working at a bar one night when a tall, dark, and handsome stranger named Henry saunters in, and they hit it off. Like, majorly hit it off. The next day, he goes to meet her for their first date, only to find out she's dead. Except she's not. She's just in witness protection! When she winds up in his town, they have to act like they've never met, which is tricky because Henry's sister is her new BFF and because they’re still obsessed with each other.
This book spans 9 years and was ultimately a fun read. The heroine drove me a little nuts, but Henry is a total dreamboat. Also, holy shit, the spice is well written. It was a like, not a love for me; it was just so freaking long! I’m going to read book 1 in this series, though, because it follows Henry’s sister and her billionaire husband’s love story, and I was like 👀 who is this billionaire hottie.
TW: one bad tattoo that almost ruined the whole book
