Mabel lives on a quiet street, and if you asked any of her neighbors, she’s your typical 80-year-old woman. She’s a little crabby, a bit in everyone’s business, and she appreciates a cup of tea. No one would suspect her bloody past and her national infamy when she was known by the nickname “Mad Mabel.”
When one of her neighbors shows up dead and Mabel is the first at the scene, things she buried from her past come up to the surface.
A well-paced, funny, cozy mystery minus the cozy element (so just a mystery?). I loved spending time with Mabel. A bit disturbing and a bit heartwarming… what a combo!!. I had fun reading this!
