Fake Skating

my review : ✮✮✮✮

So I picked up this adorable book without realizing it’s YA. Actually, I don’t think YA is even a distinction the publishing world uses anymore, but it’s one I still use! By the time I realized it was a high school romance, I was already smitten with the snowy small Minnesota town and the shared history between these two cute kids, so I kept reading.

Dani & Alec were best friends who saw each other every summer throughout middle school until things abruptly changed, and they stopped seeing each other. Dani is dreading yet another military move, but she finds relief in knowing her sweet friend Alec will be there for her. Imagine her surprise when she learns sweet little Alec is no longer; he now goes by Zeus, he’s the hockey god the whole town worships, and he doesn’t seem so happy to see her again.

Cute, adorable YA fun. Very tame, very high school! It would make a great gift for a preteen in your life (but the F word is flown around like confetti, so beware of the audience!). Dani and Alec are seventeen, but they’re on their best behavior. Lots of making out, nothing more! Fake dating for the high school set!

you’ll love this book if you love:
