If you’re looking for a satisfying twist on a cozy mystery, look no further! Set in the English countryside, this book was just the escape I was craving. It’s one of those books that feels like it was written for book lovers.
This story follows Cath, a woman whose estranged mother died, and among the belongings left to her were two tickets to Murder Week—a weeklong stay in the English countryside where participants solve a fake murder mystery. Cath is stunned to learn that not only was her mother spending such an exorbitant amount on this event, but she was also planning to take Cath with her! Cath decides to embark on the trip solo and meets a cast of characters I dare you not to get charmed by.
This book was a fun departure from my usual reading. It had all the elements of a cozy mystery with the added fun of it all being a ruse! There are a few mysteries getting solved here and a sprinkle of romance. It’s a delightful, quick read.
The love interest is a gin maker, so obviously I was immediately swooning. The first drink he makes for Cath is a Bramble, and that’s what we’re pairing with this book. Swipe for the recipe!
