The God of the Woods
The God of the Woods
Liz Moore
my review : ✮✮✮✮
Honestly? The perfect summer thriller. Set at a summer camp in the Adirondack mountains, this book will give you chills on even the most stifling summer night. With notes of campfire ghost stories, I can’t think of a better time to read this than right now.
The year is 1975, and a camp counselor discovers one of her campers is missing from her bunk early in the morning. Barbara isn’t just any camper. She is the daughter of the uber-wealthy family that owns the summer camp, and she’s not the first Van Laar child to go missing… 14 years ago, her older brother went missing, never to be seen again…
I like thrillers that are twisty but not too disturbing, and this fits the bill. I find reviewing thrillers hard work to do well without spoilers. Romances are easy: the guy gets the girl, and I get to gush about it, so I will keep this short and sweet. An unsettling suspense that will leave you breathless.
Best paired with the “Into The Woods” cocktail by @seriouseats. Swipe for recipe!
