Not Quite Dead Yet

Holly Jackson

my review : ✮✮✮

Everyone’s favorite YA thriller author finally wrote an adult book! This book was twisty and turny, and to me, it felt more like a whodunit than a dark thriller.

The book is about Jet, a woman who returns home from her small town’s Halloween party to an attack from an intruder in her house. Days later, she wakes in the hospital and learns that in seven days, she will have a deadly brain aneurysm. Jet decides to spend the seven days solving her own murder.

Whew! How is that for the premise of a thriller? The book starts on Halloween, so if you have this on your TBR, I’d suggest saving it for spooky season. It is set in gorgeous Vermont and is a bit atmospheric, so it’s perfect to pick up once the leaves begin to change (Stick Season by Noah Kahan is also mandatory listening). I liked the book. At times, it still felt like a YA story on a few different fronts, but I found it entertaining and not what I’ve come to expect in my thrillers!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Holly’s past work

  • Something spooky (but not too spooky!) for Halloween🎃
