Dissection of a Murder
Jo Murray
my review : ✮✮✮✮
I absolutely loved this legal thriller! It was twisty and juicy and kept me on my toes (and occupied all my thoughts) until the very last page.
It was written in a way that perfectly explained the complex UK legal system without boring you to death.
Our story is about a young female barrister, Lydia. Lydia’s just learned she’s been asked to represent Jack, a nightclub bouncer who is on trial for murdering a very senior judge. The case is already complex, but Lydia’s just learned her client will not provide a defense for his actions, meaning his legal team has to come up with a defense without any help from Jack.
I found the legal backdrop to be fascinating, the writing to be accessible, and the twists kept me guessing until the very last page.
I am pairing this with a Blood Red Halloween Sangria from @thespruceeats !
