I could not have been more in the mood for this book! This is a sloooooow burn thriller. If you’re looking for action-packed, this should not be your pick! This is a domestic thriller that creeps up on you. It kept me hooked from the first page, and while it started out slow, it picks up the tempo as the book goes on.

This story is about a very charming man, the widow he starts dating, and her adult daughter, who finds everything about him... slippery and suspicious.

It’s a bit tricky to follow who is who in the beginning, but as you sink your teeth into this book, it all becomes clear. It didn’t keep me up at night, but it kept me on the edge of my seat (a winning combo, IMO).

If my DMs are any indication, I am in the minority on loving this one, but I did! I love Lisa Jewell’s writing style, and I just majorly enjoyed submersing myself in this story. You’ll be filled with rage and ready for revenge.
