The Unknown

Riley Sager

my review : ✮✮✮✮

Honestly, this book was exactly what I wanted for a Halloween read. I could only read it with the lights on, and I had to read a B.R.A.D. before bed to ensure I was getting any shut-eye! I love how atmospheric and creepy this whole story was. Things got a little jumbled for me in the middle, but I love how the author tied it all up in the end. Maybe a little over the top, but I happen to like over the top!

This story is about a struggling actress who just got cast in a horror movie directed by a legendary director and starring an A-list actress! The movie is about 5 women who spent a summer living on a private island off the coast of Vermont and all went missing by the end of that summer. Legend suggests witchcraft or some sort of dark magic caused them to disappear. In order to prepare for the role, the director insists that the whole cast and crew head to that very island where the real-life story took place to live like their characters. Creepy chaos ensues.

The kind of book that gives you chills and forces you to read through your fingers. You don’t want to read it, but you need to know what’s going to happen! Lots of mixed reviews on this one, but I personally liked it! What did you think?

Best enjoyed with one hand on your face and the other holding a spooky cocktail! Swipe for the one I mixed up!
