This is the story of a (beautiful, smart, funny) grim reaper falling in love with a (gorgeous, gooey-hearted) Guardian Angel.

Darcy is a grim reaper who is over grim reaping. When she arrives in Annapolis for her latest assignment, she meets a very handsome bartender who makes her think this assignment might not be so bad. Until she realizes he’s a guardian angel! AKA the anti-grim reaper! They strike a deal: he’ll help her work through her bucket list, and she’ll give him clues about who she’s there to take.

I thought this book was sexy, festive, and fun. In the middle, I found myself getting too caught up in how their magic works and all the details about the Department of Hauntings, but then I decided to just sit back and enjoy it, and enjoy it I did! I was a bit “eh” in the middle, but I really loved the ending. The author’s note gave me a whole new appreciation for this story and how it came to be.

We are pairing this book with the cocktail Gabe mixed up for Darcy that very first night, a sidecar!
