Happy Medium
Happy Medium
Sarah Adler
my review : ✮✮✮
I just couldn’t get into this book! I didn’t connect with the love story, which was such a bummer because I am Mrs. Nash’s Ashes #1 fan! In the spirit of full disclosure, I am 38 weeks pregnant (omg, do I ever shut up about being pregnant!?), so I have a ton on my mind and think maybe that’s why I couldn’t totally focus on this story? So, I am especially interested in hearing from you if you’ve read this book to see what you think. The BR&B gals need your input!
Our story is about Gretchen Acorn, a woman who pretends to be a medium in DC. When one of her clients offers her a lot of dough to go to a haunted goat farm and get rid of the ghost so the owner can sell the farm, she jumps at the chance for the cash and to help the old man running the joint. Except… the owner is a young, hot guy, and sparks fly immediately despite the fact that he immediately sees through her claim that she’s a medium and doesn’t trust her. Lots of tension and pining. Also, Gretchen can communicate with a literal ghost haunting the house (the ghost is the best character in the whole book, IMO).
The plot is a little convoluted, but normally, I love convoluted. I just think it wasn’t for me! Sarah Adler will still remain an auto-buy author for me, and I’m excited to see what she writes next!
