This Summer Will Be Different
Carley Fortune
my review : ✮✮✮✮✮
This book is a sexy, tension-filled dream that I grinned my way through. This book is just plain fun and sexy. If you’re a romance reader, look no further. The whole book was delectable, from oysters to all the sexy bits, I was panting for more. This book was 3 things to me: Carley Fortune’s steamiest book yet, (maybe not so coincidentally) my favorite of hers, & my favorite romance of the year thus far.
This is the story of Felix & Lucy. It’s set on the gorgeous Canadian island of PEI, and I guarantee you’ll peruse airfare after reading this book. It’s a little bit angsty, a lot a bit hot, and just a damn good time. It is a reminder of why single POV romances are so delectable (the tension!!).
I loved the way this book was written, at times both Emily Henry & Elin Hilderbrand were brought to mind, two of my very favorite authors, which might be why I gobbled this up with such fervor.
In terms of pairing this book, you must grab a cold bottle of Vinho Verde. Or, you can follow the Clarke family tradition and pair it with rye and peanuts. My only complaint to Miss Carley Fortune is that it’s a special kind of hell having a pregnant woman read about oysters. I was drooling the entire book.
I cannot wait to see what CF writes next; they just seem to be getting better!
