I want a lobotomy so I can read this book again for the first time! What is there to say about Ali Hazelwood that I haven’t already??!! She writes the romance I want to read!!! Smart leading women! Unbearably sexy love stories!!

This book is filled to the brim with pining and tension and WILL THEY OR FREAKING WON’T THEY ENERGY! You will have to actually restrain yourself from devouring this story.

Sure, Ali likes to throw in a lot of smart people jargon (Biotech! Physics! Legalese! General nerdy, brilliant, beautiful people talking passionately about stuff!), but it makes me feel like she’s giving you permission to love romance and be smart (even though I will never be Maya Kilgore smart). I just feel so lucky to love Ali Hazelwood books. I know they’re not for everyone, but they are so firmly for me that I’d spend three years on the phone with them, pining from afar.

This is an age gap romance. This is not a B.R.A.D. where the age gap is the whole thing; this is a love story between two people who happen to be very different ages. If that’s not for you, keep it moving!
Maya is a brilliant physicist, and Conor is a hot, rich guy who is brilliant in his own right (what he does is a long story, which you can read all about in Not In Love). All we know going into the book is they had some kind of… friendship… that ended abruptly. Now, they’re seeing each other for the first time at Maya’s brother’s wedding in Sicily. This book will leave you yearning for two things: Conor Harkness and a trip to Sicily. Since Conor is sadly fictional and I am non-fictionally married, I will settle for a trip to Sicily. Until I can get my ass on a plane, I will settle for sipping a Limoncello Spritz while thinking about grottos (IYKYK). Swipe for the recipe!

Note: This book is technically the sequel to Not in Love, but it isn’t required reading beforehand. I loved that book, but not everyone did!
