Mate

Mate
Ali Hazelwood
my review : ✮✮✮✮
Have you ever eaten an oyster? Taken a chilly oyster, dabbed on some cocktail sauce, and squeezed a juicy lemon on top? You try it and you’re like, why would I ever not order this when it’s on the menu? Or you take one look at the oyster and say, why would I ever do that to myself? This book is like a West Coast oyster. It’s meaty (500 pages!), and you’re either going to want a dozen more, or it’s not going to be palatable for you.
I want a dozen. I want the East Coast and West Coast versions. I want a mating bite (have I lost the plot of this metaphor?).
This book is about an alpha werewolf and a half-werewolf, half-human girl falling in love. That synopsis should pretty much indicate if it’s for you!
If the werewolves give you even a minute of pause, don’t pick this up.
Ali Hazelwood, to me, is the queen of pining, breathless, and heady anticipation. She writes the leading men I want to read. I cannot think of another romance writer who has the same effect on me. I actually had a hard time falling asleep one night after reading this book because my heart was beating out of my chest. There is no book hangover like an Ali Hazelwood book hangover!
I must admit I do clutch my pearls a bit at the knotting. I just can’t get over it! Well, actually, I did manage to get over it, but I could do without it.
Best paired with a black & green Mate’s Bite cocktail, swipe for the recipe!
