I had the BEST time reading this book. I was squealing and kicking my feet!! Totally fun, sexy, and over the top. The tension was delicious, and it was one of those books where you’re just desperate for the love interests to occupy the same space for any length of time. Fun banter. Found family. It felt mob romance adjacent. Slow burn, but when it burns, it is on FIRE (70%). I can’t speak for fantasy fanatics, but if you dip your toe into fantasy every now and then or you’ve been wanting to try it… start here. This book is rooted in the “real world,” which makes it easy to follow fantasy-wise (there are no maps anywhere in this book!! heheh). This is just plain fun. I quite literally cannot think of a better time to start this as we enter an incredibly stressful week.

Our story is about an ER nurse living in New Orleans who realizes her brother has fallen in with the Gage’s, the insanely rich & dangerous (and insanely hot) family that runs the city. When he explains to her that he is indebted to them, she goes to the last man she wants to ask a favor: Lachlan Gage. One thing leads to another, and she’s given him her soul. Forced proximity, enemies to lovers (potentially my five favorite words of all time).

I don’t want to belabor the point! If we love all the same books, you’re going to love this!!!!!!
