All Rhodes Lead Here

All Rhodes Lead Here - Mariana Zapata
my review : ✮✮✮✮
I love a good slow burn. There is nothing more satisfying than the anticipation, the will-they-won’t-they (we know they will!!), and the loaded glances that mark a good slow burn. This book is loooong and lives up to its slow-burn reputation, but it makes every word and glance from hotty hot Rhodes even more meaningful!
Aurora just moved back to the small Colorado town she grew up in. She hasn’t been back since her mother died tragically on a hike, and unfortunately, she isn’t returning under the best circumstances. She is getting divorced from her uber-famous husband of 14 years, and all she wants is someplace to plant some roots. When she shows up at her Airbnb, she gets off to a bad start with the owner of the property when she realizes he had no idea his son rented out the apartment over their garage. Forced-ish proximity (she’s living above his garage!), lots of delicious protectiveness (not in a toxic way!), a very tall leading man… what more could you want!?
I thought this book was a litttttle long, but I am in the minority there. This book is allll about the ride. The amount of detail really left me feeling like I just had a love affair with a game warden (this whole angle was super fascinating), but I am not complaining. I got major butterflies and heart palpitations. Fun all around!
P.S. My only gripe with this book is one of the terms of endearment he uses. I literally almost DNF’d the book. And then when he explained it!!! Did any of my buddies feel the same way about this?
