The Wish
The Wish
Nicholas Sparks
my review : ✮✮✮✮
This is a well-told, heavy, & touching holiday story.
This book throws you right into the depressing deep-end as you meet Maggie, a world-renowned photographer who is grappling with her terminal illness. Typically, she splits her time between running her gallery in NYC and jet-setting around the world to photograph remote locations, but this year, she is home for Christmas, coming to terms with her medical diagnosis, and is increasingly reliant on her young assistant. Maggie spends her last Christmas with this unlikely friend and regales him with stories of another Christmas, decades earlier, that changed her life.
If my normal holiday reads are a Hallmark movie, this was a Lifetime movie. This tore at my heartstrings and was written in such a way that I felt I simply couldn’t put down this story.
A different kind of love story ⛵️.
