Things We Never Got Over
Things We Never Got Over
Lucy Score
my review : ✮✮✮✮
Things I’ll never get over… this book.
It has so many things I love in a romance:
Grumpy male lead who intimidates everyone but is putty in our heroine’s hands? Check!
Evil twin who is a constant threat to our heroine, so everyone is very protective of her, especially said hot man? Check!
Makeover scene?? Check!
Cute cottage that needs cleaning and organizing (Am I the only one who loves a little cleaning montage in a book? So satisfying)? Check!
This story is about our sweet Naomi, who comes screeching into this small town when her twin sister sends off the bat signal that she’s in trouble. Is Naomi literally leaving her fiancé at the altar and heading straight for the charming town of Knockemout? Yes, she is. Upon arriving in town, she realizes her sister has once again duped her - stealing her car, phone, and wallet and leaving her with her daughter. Naomi is shocked to meet the niece she never knew existed and has to rely on the kindness of this small town, and one particularly grumpy hot man, to stay afloat.
I had so much fun reading this book. I loved the characters and was charmed by the town of Knockemout.
Like any B.R.A.D., there’s a little cheese and a lot of passion, so proceed with caution, but this would be a great B.R.A.D. for beginners if you want to dip your toe in. The water’s warm 😉
This was my first Lucy Score book and will not be my last!
Best paired with a glass of rosé, Naomi’s favorite and perfect for spring. May I suggest a glass of Whispering Angel?
