Last Night Was Fun

Last Night Was Fun

my review : ✮✮✮

What a fun concept! When a guy gets “wrong numbered” at a bar (meaning the girl he was chatting with gives him a fake number), he ends up texting “last night was fun” to Emmy Jameson.

Emmy receives the text, and she’s confused: last night was most definitely *not* fun for her. Once they sort out the confusion about the fake number, they continue chatting and realize they actually love texting with each other. Emmy is a data analyst for a professional baseball team and one of the only women in what’s basically a boys’ club. Her archnemesis at work, Gabe Olson, is up for the same promotion as she is, so Mr. Wrong Number couldn’t have come at a better time—she certainly needs a distraction from all the stress. Oh, and she needs a date for her sister’s wedding!

This story was sweet and surprisingly a bit steamy! The premise was entertaining, and I liked learning about the surprisingly fascinating world of professional baseball statistics. I also discovered that I enjoy a leading man who blushes sometimes! Who knew!

This book is best paired with a piña colada, since my mouth was watering as our leading lady slurped them at her sister’s welcome party in Cancún.

Have you read this? I’m curious to see what you thought of this one!

you’ll love this book if you love:

  • Forced Proximity

  • Workplace (ish) romances
