Wowza, this is quite the read. The writing pulls you in right away and doesn’t let you go until the very last page.

This book follows Philomena, a very respected police officer who is trying to right her mobster father’s wrongs by dedicating her life to serving and protecting the city of London. When she is called to a domestic dispute and learns that the abuser is a Scotland Yard Detective, local hero, and part of a very powerful secret group of men in power, her career takes a drastic turn as she works to pursue a case against him. While the subject matter is heavy, the book is a quick and addictive read.

This story has all of the deception and intrigue of a good thriller. I did want to shake the heroine from time to time, but overall, the story kept me on my toes and was a great read.
