Ann Patchett
my review : ✮✮✮✮✮
Calling Ann Patchett a talented storyteller is like informing you that an ice cold lemonade is refreshing on a summer day. Tangy, freshly squeezed lemonade was made to be enjoyed with the sun on your face, and Ann Patchett does a masterful job of capturing the human condition.
This is the story of Daphne, a woman who reconnects with her stepfather, a man who was only in her life for two years but who had a profound impact on her.
Quietly profound and poignant. It delves into the complexities of love and loss but still manages to be a feel good book.
A book meant to be enjoyed in a few sittings and then ruminated on for a few hours. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
A raspberry lime rickey is mentioned in here, and I thought to myself, let’s throw a little booze in there and see how it tastes! If you’d like to forgo the sweet drink, Eddie would pair this with a Chardonnay, and Daphne would recommend a Sancerre!
you’ll love this book if you love:
