An absolute no-brainer add to your “Want to Read” list on Goodreads if you love thrillers. This is the kind of thriller that kept me in a very dark place while I was reading it. The vibes were just soooo dark, so mentally prepare yourself. This may have been a personal feeling, as kidnappings just CREEP. ME. OUT. Also, it is set in the suburbs of Chicago, which was just a little too close to home. Prepare yourself to dip your toes into the dark world of Mary Kubica, the queen of the twisty thriller.

This book is about a sleepy community rocked by the disappearance of one of its residents, Shelby Tebow. A few weeks later, Meredith and her six-year-old daughter, Delilah, vanish just blocks away from where Shelby was last seen. After an elusive search that yields more questions than answers, the case eventually goes cold.

Now, ELEVEN YEARS LATER, Delilah shockingly returns. Everyone wants to know what happened to her, but no one is prepared for what they’ll find…
